We are told repeatedly that study after study has shown vaccinations to be safe and not to be linked to autism. Just reading the vaccine inserts, you will discover that vaccines are not 100% safe – a fact that is reiterated by discussions with pediatricians. However, most pediatricians would still recommend vaccinating as they feel the benefits outweigh the risks.
Regarding all the research that has been done not linking vaccines to autism, there are actually studies that do link vaccines to autism. These studies were not funded by the pharmaceutical industry and are often dissected by those who wholeheartedly support vaccines even though the pharmaceutical studies are taken at face value.
Hepatitis B Vaccine and Autism
Prior to 1999, the Hepatitis B vaccine contained thimerosal (49.6% mercury by weight). A study was performed in 2010 to determine if vaccines containing thimerosal given prior to 1999 were linked to autism. The Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health found that there was, in fact, a link.
Vaccination records from boys aged 3-17, born before 1999 were reviewed and it was found that boys vaccinated as neonates had threefold greater odds of being diagnosed with autism compared to boys that were never vaccinated or vaccinated after the first month of life. Nonwhite boys bore a greater risk.
The U.S. Public Health Service and the American Academy of Pediatrics issued a joint statement noting that although there were no known adverse effects of thimerosal in vaccines, it would be prudent to eliminate or reduce the amount of thimerosal. They specifically recommended that the first dose of Hepatitis B be deferred from neonates to infants that were between two to six months of age.
Hypersensitivity to Thimerosal
In 2013, the Journal of Toxicology published a research article that studied the effect of thimerosal on cell proliferation and mitochondrial function from people with autism and their neurotypical twins and nontwin siblings.
A subpopulation showed thimerosal hypersensitivity. The thimerosal concentration required to inhibit cell proliferation in this subpopulation was only 40% of controls. The researchers conclude that certain individuals with a mild mitochondrial defect may be highly susceptible to mitochondrial specific toxins like the vaccine preservative thimerosal.
But Most Vaccines No Longer Contain Thimerosal
That is correct. There are a few vaccines such as the flu shot and the Sanofi Pasteur version of the DTaP shots that still contain some thimerosal. However, what did they use to replace the thimerosal in most vaccines? Aluminum.
An article published in The Journal of Inorganic Biochemistry discussed the fact that aluminum is the most commonly used vaccine adjuvant and is a demonstrated neurotoxin as well as a strong immune stimulator; giving them the potential to induce neuroimmune disorders. They also question whether 18 aluminum adjuvanted vaccines are safe for children. They state that children from countries with the highest ASD prevalence appear to have the highest exposure to aluminum from vaccines and that it is significantly correlated with the increase in autism in the United States observed over the past two decades.
DTaP
Many parents have stated that their child began having autism symptoms after the DTaP vaccine was administered. We are told repeatedly that there is not a link between vaccines and autism, yet Sanofi Pasteur listed autism as an adverse reaction and also identified their personal files as the source. The package insert states:
Adverse events reported during post-approval use of Tripedia vaccine include idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, SIDS, anaphylactic reaction, cellulitis, autism, convulsion/grand mal convulsion, encephalopathy, hypotonia, neuropathy, somnolence, and apnea. Events were included in this list because of the seriousness or frequency of reporting. Because these events are reported voluntarily from a population of uncertain size, it is not always possible to reliably estimate their frequencies or to establish a causal relationship to components of Tripedia vaccine.
The package insert is available to view on the FDA's website. The above paragraph is on page 11, directly after the bullet points.
Detoxing from Vaccinations
British researchers found that drinking silicon-rich mineral water ‘significantly reduced’ the levels of neurotoxic aluminum in the body by allowing the aluminum to be excreted through urine.
Supporting your children with pure, organic foods that do not burden their bodies with additional chemicals is another useful strategy.
At Healing 4 Soul, we use CEASE Therapy to help people of all ages detox from toxic substances including medications they have had reactions to. With CEASE therapy we use homeopathic remedies, along with orthomolecular medicine (nutritional supplements in therapeutic doses) and lifestyle changes with emphasis on dietary modifications, to reach optimal health.
